Why Choose This Programme

Built for the lateral hip

Lateral hip pain, often caused by gluteal tendinopathy (sometimes called greater trochanteric pain syndrome or bursitis), is one of the most common causes of pain on the outside of the hip, especially with walking, climbing stairs and lying on the affected side.

Designed by Mehmet Gem, a specialist hip physiotherapist, this is a structured, evidence-informed pathway to reduce pain, improve hip muscle control and build tolerance to load through progressive strength and functional training. It moves you from pain-limited daily tasks all the way to confident, resilient, life-ready movement.

What this plan gives you

  • A non-surgical route from relief to resilience
  • 3 phases built for gluteal tendinopathy & GTPS
  • Less pain with walking, stairs and lying on your side
  • Progressive strength and load tolerance for the hip
  • A plan for daily comfort or a return to activity

Lateral Hip Pain Relief to Resilience

Common questions

I've been told I have GTPS, is that the same thing?+
Yes, this programme is for GTPS. Greater trochanteric pain syndrome is an umbrella term for lateral hip pain, and it encompasses both gluteal tendinopathy and bursitis. So this plan would be perfect for you.
Is this okay if I also have arthritis?+
Yes, of course. It is common to have co-existing hip conditions, so for those who have arthritis alongside GTPS or bursitis, this plan is suitable. If there are additional modifications you would like support with, the 1:1 check ins are excellent for that during your journey.
How are psychological components like fear avoidance integrated?+
The plans are structured so that the areas people struggle with due to fear-avoidant behaviour are considered. The app also helps you track your weekly psychological resilience, which lets me see who may be struggling more and where improvements can be made.
What support is provided if a flare-up occurs?+
As this is a self-directed programme, 1:1 support with me is available if you have signed up to receive touch points (on the Restore tier) or if you book a specific consultation. The education content also gives you a clear strategy for managing flare-ups.
