Why I have created these programmes

Over the last ten years having specialised as a Hip Physiotherapist I have had the privilege of working with patients with a vast array of needs and levels of activity, from patients looking to improve quality of life to high level performance elite athletes. When it comes to rehab post surgery, the last decade has taught me that it can often be done very poorly, and and sometimes  even not at all. When that happens unfortunately patients miss out on optimising their outcomes. This online rehab programme approach will mean I can share more of what patients should and need to be doing without delay.

What is it?

A bespoke app based rehabilitation guide to help with rehab after FAI surgery, hip replacements and conservative management of hip impingement. This will be rehab & expert support from the start to the end of the rehab journey that I have specifically put together myself. Dependant on where your journey starts you can start with whichever stage of rehab is best suited for your needs. The goal is to try and embody as much of what I would do within my 121 consultations for this kind of rehab but in the remit of the app based programmes.

 

Whether you are planning to start these programmes right after surgery or are some way post surgery but still struggling, these can work excellently for your needs. Many people struggle to attain the right level and volume of rehab guidance to enable them to progress sufficiently and to reach their goals. This app based rehab programme is not only developed solely by me,  but it also enables you to send me any video clips to check your form and any quick fire questions on the 121 chat function so that you still feel supported. I am extremely passionate about the fact that when it comes to post op hip rehab, if you do the right thing, at the right time for the right duration, you can progress excellently.

 

For those who are looking to restart their rehab journey weeks or months afters surgery, the Mid Phase for each would be suitable.

 

FAIS- Post Op Rehab programmes:

PHASE 1 (Early)- Taking you through from week 1 post surgery through to the mid phase (approximately week 12).

PHASE 2 (Mid)- To guide you through the mid point of rehab, continuing to progress both stability and strength whilst consolidating everything that has been done in phase 1. This is  approximately month 3-6 post surgery. (A good phase to start with if you already have started rehab but not happy with progress).

PHASE 3 (Late)- Taking you through from month 5/6- month 8/9 (approximately) post surgery addressing all of the important elements that are needed to get back to sport and high level exercise.

 

Hip replacement - Post op rehab programmes:

PHASE 1 - (Early) - Taking you through from week 1 post surgery, focussing primarily on improving functional ability, confidence and bringing back independence.

PHASE 2 (Mid) - Moving on from the functional focus in phase 1 to building strength, global hip control and mobility. (A good phase to start with if you already have started rehab but not happy with progress).

PHASE 3 (Late) - Consolidating everything from first two phases and having an advanced level of rehab in mind, with the aim of allowing the hip to improve its ability to return to a high level of exercise.

 

Each plan includes:

🎦Video demonstrations of every exercise

❇️ Split up phases for each section with exercises curated for each phase.

❇️Cues from me on certain exercises for correct execution but also an ability for you to leave a message to ask me any questions specific to this.

❇️Not an overwhelming number of exercises.

❇️Clear set structure on what to do and how to do it.

❇️Various rehab exercise options within each phase to keep rehab fun and motivating.

📝An ability to use the chat function on the app for any private questions.

📈Log your rehab completion on the app to track progress and send me progress updates.
